Dan MacDougall wanted to grow his business but often found himself battling industry-wide challenges of recruitment, retention & dependability. Dan wanted a process that would screen out unfit candidates quickly and keep high-performers longer.

We focused on a go-to-market strategy that would excite potential candidates, a pre screening application that would engage with and uncover core competencies and an onboarding program that aligned new hires with the organization quickly and effectively.
We started by uncovering what traits their high-performers have and what keeps them at the company.

We discovered that the company story, charitable giving and a love of serving the community were some of the top reasons for retention. Our goal was to create an application process that would uncover core competencies for the role and bring the organization’s story, mission, vision & values to life through a strategic onboarding process.

Pre screening
Pre-screening gave the team the tools they needed to make better decisions faster. Rather than sifting through resumes and scheduling random interviews, they were now able to bring in candidates that matched the unique traits of their highest performers.
Onboarding program
An updated onboarding program allowed the organization to highlight the company’s history, values & charitable causes. It also included specific information on how team members can participate and contribute. Everyone in the organization has a role to play.
Applicant tracking
The applicant tracking system was a great tool to organize applicants and engaged managers in the hiring process. All managers could now get involved by jumping in and rating applicants in the system.

Are you a recruiter?
We are not a recruiting agency, we work with clients to help them take their hiring back by
developing an awesome strategy for recruitment, retention & succession.
How long does the process take?
For every client it is unique, but to assess the current methods and build out a new recruitment process it typically takes between 3-5 months. Strict timelines will be presented before we begin.
Who are your current clients?
We have been fortunate to work with some major brands like Tim Hortons and industries
like apartment rentals, hospitality services and restaurants. We thrive in environments where frontline recruiting is a major challenge.
What is your background?
Our team is built around experience in HR with a focus on People & Culture. We took the best practices from over 20 years of experience and compiled them into a People & Culture program that has impacted organizations around the globe. What does it cost?
This varies depending on the range and scope of the organization. We will be up front with the costs during the proposal phase.
Is this an ‘off the shelf‘ program?
This is not an ‘off the shelf‘ program. Everything is by design and you own all the intellectual property that is created during the process.
What type of training is provided?
All relevant stakeholders will be trained on the pre-screening methodology, the interview guides, the job ad strategies and onboarding strategies. Detailed manuals will then be provided for the organization to use to train others.

Training programs can include as many relevant stakeholders as required.

For the ATS there is expert support available to the entire organization.
Do you develop your own ATS?
We are not a tech company and do not develop our own ATS. We will always be objective in this prcoess and find the best solutions for our clients.
Do you build an employee profile?
We don’t build a profile from your current best employees. We work with you to understand what excellence looks like for your team and we build a screening process for your ideal candidiate. We then validate the prcoess on your current team to establish a baseline for testing.
